Multidisciplinary decision-making and surgical simulation in congenital cardiac surgery

We are pleased to announce the 2026 edition of the Congenital Cardiac Surgery Masterclass.

With an expanded three-day programme focused on the planning and surgical management of complex congenital heart disease, the course combines expert multidisciplinary discussion with hands-on surgical simulation using anatomically realistic 3D heart models designed for training.

It will take place in Southampton, 3–5 December 2026.

Designed for senior cardiothoracic trainees and congenital cardiac surgery fellows, the CCS Masterclass offers a focused environment to explore operative strategy, surgical anatomy and technical execution.

The Royal College of Surgeons of England has awarded up to 10.5 CPD points for this event.

Booking Option 1

Day 1 – Multidisciplinary Programme

Registration is open to all professionals involved in congenital heart disease care, including surgeons, cardiologists, intensivists, imaging specialists, trainees, nurses and allied healthcare professionals.

£50 for nurses and AHPs.

£100 for doctors.

Booking Option 2

Days 1–3 – Surgical Simulation Programme

Participation in the surgical simulation component is limited to:

  • Senior cardiothoracic surgery trainees (ST6 and above)

  • Congenital cardiac surgery fellows (Years 1–2)

Participants in the surgical simulation programme attend all three days of the course.
